Considering DILC for video
So the bottom line is there's a growing community of videographers who want a "film look," and there's a new crop of still image cameras that now shoot HD video. I'm thinking I might go this route, but i need to find a camera that supports an external mic.

OK. I totally predicted this one even as far back as the times I was with Laureate. Notice they're in large part dumping the traditional news crew and bringing on the SoJos (solo journalists, backpack journalists.)
A soJo is someone who can plan, shoot, edit and publish -- all by themselves.
It no longer takes a village to make a video.

Enhanced e-Books are on the way...
I don't get involved in the PC versus Mac religious wars. I will say though, that whether we like it or not Apple has already dramatically changed the game on two fronts:
(1) They changed the music industry with the iPod.
(2) They changed the smart phone industry with the iPhone.
I now predict they are on the verge to make another big move: changing the game on the book, newspaper and periodical industries with their upcoming tablet/pad.
Here's yet another indicator:

Notice that second to last sentence about "enhanced e-books." That's the Kindle killer.
